A Day out in London
 
Whilst most of the north of England went about their daily business many members of the Allied Masonic Degrees from all parts of Lancashire and beyond made their way south to the "Big City", whether London was ready for this influx was another matter!

Arriving at the Freemasons Hall in Great Queen Street, the intrepid travellers from Lancashire joined other Allied Masons from all parts of England and Wales as well as many from overseas.

The reason for this gathering: October 25th 2016 was the appointed day for the meeting of Grand Council; the meeting was presided over by our Grand Master, Thomas Jackson.

In welcoming members to the meeting, the Grand Master made quite clear his wish that everyone enjoyed their membership of the Allied Degree, he then went on to express his thanks for the support of the members as well as their attendance, and efforts within the Order.

Another reason for the trip south was to support members of the District receiving either first appointments or promotion within Grand Council.

Appointed as the Grand Junior Deacon was that well-known man about Garstang William Richmond, William is already making plans to embark on a "Grand Tour of England and Wales"

First Appointment:  John Cooper and Frank Cooke P.G.Std.B.
Ian Greenwood and Stephen Pemberton were promoted to the Rank of P.G.J.D. whilst Ian Scott, Paul Snape and Peter Watson received a promotion to the Rank of P.G.Reg.
Refreshment over!!
After the meeting and following suitable refreshments a Banquet was held in the Connaught Rooms which was enjoyed by all present.

Following the Banquet everyone dispersed to start the journey home, buoyed up by a thoroughly enjoyable day the intrepid travellers from Lancashire made their way north, suitable assisted by hospitality supplied courtesy of Richard Branson.
